Anagenesis means rebirth. In this exhibition, Michalis Goumas explores the gentle shift between past and present, between myth and skin, between stillness and motion. Photographed in the sea, where time seems to slow down and bodies become weightless, Goumas reveals a pure, unembellished presence.

The works, printed on acrylic, capture not only light but also the reflections and refractions reminiscent of the water itself. In the poses of the photographed bodies, stories echo of Achilles and Patroclus, Zeus and Ganymede, Apollo and Hyacinthus — myths that have shaped ancient images of beauty and intimacy. Anagenesis is his personal renaissance, born from salt, skin, and sunlight, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in this quiet, mythical world.
